Job summary

bioMérieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across a defined geographic area and nationally as needed. The role involves installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrades of complex instruments, with a strong focus on customer experience and field service revenue generation.

The position requires travel, on-call responsibilities, and participation in product training at designated sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience troubleshooting and/or repair of electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs using electronic and computer skills to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue through billable offerings like preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend 6-9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year; future trainings occur as needed.
• Travel includes scheduled and unscheduled visits, with overnight stays for wide territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks), requiring local phone availability and potential national travel for instrument support.
• Maintain timely completion of work orders, QA checklists, and internal training requirements.
