Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site service tasks, installations, and troubleshooting for critical power equipment near Portland, OR. You will prepare material lists, manage maintenance and upgrades, and help identify new sales opportunities while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will collaborate with customers, document tests, and ensure timely completion of service projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1+ years’ field experience.
• Associates degree in electrical technology with 3+ years’ experience servicing critical power equipment.
• HS diploma with equivalent work or military experience (5+ years) servicing critical power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service tasks and on-site troubleshooting per instructions.
• Prepare material lists and ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Execute installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and life-cycle services.
• Build strong customer relationships and identify new sales opportunities.
• Detect equipment failures and propose corrective actions; follow safety protocols.
