Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to provide technical support and field service for process automation systems. The role involves installation, commissioning, and maintenance with travel to customer sites and some remote work from a Midland, TX–based base.

You will work with customers and Honeywell engineers to troubleshoot and support control systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation while adhering to safety procedures and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in field service, instrumentation, automation or related technical field.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Experience with PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA systems.
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Travel extensively to customer sites; willingness to work in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of process control and instrumentation systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, valves, transmitters and related equipment.
• Perform loop checks, functional testing and system diagnostics.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and control documentation.
• Document service activities and recommendations in reports.
• Follow safety requirements at customer sites.
