Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to provide technical support for process automation systems from customer sites nationwide. You will troubleshoot, commission, calibrate, and maintain control systems while collaborating with customers and engineering teams.

Based out of Midland, TX with field-based travel, you will develop deep knowledge through on-site work and mentoring from experienced engineers in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in field service, instrumentation, electrical, automation, or related technical field.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems incl. sensors and valves.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, automation, or control systems.
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical docs.
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, valves, transmitters, and related equipment.
• Perform loop checks, testing, calibration, and diagnostics to ensure proper operation.
• Read/interpret P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentation.
• Support installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of instrumentation and hardware.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers, and technicians to resolve issues.
• Assist with startup, commissioning, and service reports documentation.
• Adhere to Honeywell and customer safety requirements in industrial settings.
• Develop technical knowledge via hands-on field work and mentoring.
