Job summary

Honeywell Technologies seeks a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to provide on-site and remote support for the installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control systems. You will troubleshoot PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA and instrumented equipment while reading P&IDs and wiring diagrams, traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in field service, instrumentation, electrical, automation, or related technical field.
Basic knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical instruments).
Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, automation, or control system equipment.
Familiarity with PLC, DCS, HMI, or SCADA systems and basic control concepts.
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
Travel willingness to extensive customer sites; work in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control and instrumentation systems.
Assist with troubleshooting PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, and related control equipment.
Perform loop checks, verification, functional testing, calibration, and diagnostics to ensure proper operation of control systems.
Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument indexes, and control documentation.
Support installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control system hardware.
Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers, and technicians to identify and resolve technical issues.
Assist with startup and commissioning activities at customer sites and provide technical support during service assignments.
Document service activities, troubleshooting findings, equipment conditions, and recommendations in service reports.
Follow all safety requirements for Honeywell and customers in industrial and field environments.
Develop technical knowledge through hands-on field experience, training, and mentoring from engineers and technicians.
