Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to deliver technical support and field service for process automation systems. You’ll work at our Midland, TX location with a field-based/remote schedule, traveling to customer sites as required.

You will collaborate with customers and Honeywell engineers to troubleshoot, commission, and service control systems, ensuring safety and reliability in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of field service experience in instrumentation, electrical, automation, or related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems including sensors and valves.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, or control system equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC, DCS, HMI, or SCADA systems and basic control concepts.
• Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites and work in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support for installation, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, valves, and transmitters.
• Perform loop checks, functional testing, calibration, and diagnostics.
• Read P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and control documentation.
• Assist with installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of instrumentation hardware.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers, and technicians to resolve issues.
• Assist with startup and commissioning at customer sites and provide ongoing support.
• Document service activities and recommendations in reports.
• Adhere to Honeywell and customer safety requirements.
• Develop technical knowledge through hands-on field experience and mentoring.
