Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking a Field Service Engineer I – Process Controls to provide on-site and remote support for installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting process control systems at customer sites. You will work with experienced Honeywell engineers to commission and maintain instrumentation and control equipment, ensuring safety and reliability in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field service experience in instrumentation, electrical, automation or related technical field.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical instruments, valves).
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, automation or control system equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC, DCS, HMI or SCADA systems and basic control concepts.
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience or exposure to commissioning, startup, calibration, loop checks, preventive maintenance, or functional testing.
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites and work in industrial environments.
• Safety-focused and able to follow customer and Honeywell safety procedures.
• Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple service assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control and instrumentation systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, control valves, transmitters, and related process control equipment.
• Perform loop checks, point-to-point verification, functional testing, calibration, and system diagnostics to ensure proper operation of control systems.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument indexes, and control documentation.
• Support the installation, configuration, replacement, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control system hardware.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers, and technicians to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with startup and commissioning activities at customer sites and provide technical support throughout service assignments.
• Document service activities, troubleshooting findings, equipment conditions, and recommendations in service reports.
• Follow all Honeywell and customer safety requirements while working in industrial and field environments.
• Develop technical knowledge through hands-on field experience, training, and mentoring from experienced engineers and technicians.
