Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Field Engineer to support Border Patrol surveillance systems. Must have 2+ years of related experience, US citizenship, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust BI clearance.

Remote work, located within 2.5 hours of Campo, CA. The role emphasizes on-site troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and customer training, with strong collaboration across sales, product, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Strong reading of manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent communication to explain tech concepts to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues for equipment and systems.
• Perform root-cause analysis on hardware, software, and network issues to restore functionality.
• Install, configure, and test equipment per client specs and GDIT guidelines.
• Create detailed service reports and SOPs; manage complex projects across sites.
