Job summary

Oxford Instruments Life Science seeks a hands-on Field Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain and upgrade advanced microscopy systems across North and South America. You will train users, resolve complex hardware/software issues, and ensure peak spectral performance.

You will travel frequently, work remotely from a North America base, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs while maintaining detailed documentation and high service quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electrical/Mechanical, Physics, Materials Science, Life Science).
• 2–4 years field service in microscopy or analytical instrumentation preferred.
• Must be able to travel extensively across North/South America.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and commissioning of systems ensuring factory specs.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance with calibrated repairs.
• Provide training and remote support to customers.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and document outcomes.
• Calibrate components and implement system upgrades for performance.
