Job summary

Oxford Instruments is seeking a remote NA-based Field Service Engineer to deliver installation, startup, and maintenance of plasma etch and deposition systems across customer sites.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong technical knowledge of RF, vacuum, and pneumatic systems, and frequent weekday travel throughout North America. You will train customers, document actions, and collaborate with global teams to ensure system uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in semiconductor equipment service may substitute.
• 3–5 years of field service experience in the semiconductor industry focusing on plasma etch and deposition systems.
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and commissioning of plasma etch and deposition systems per customer specs and cleanroom standards.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance with accurate diagnostics and validation against process benchmarks.
• Engage customers with training and strong communication to enable independent operation of systems.
