Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer II in Diagnostics. This remote role covers the Nashville, TN area with travel up to 25% and a focus on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting diagnostic instruments to ensure patient-ready performance.

You will manage customer relationships, document service activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business goals while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in Engineering or Laboratory Technology.
• Ability to travel 25% within the assigned territory.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with laboratory instrumentation.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and remote computing tools (VPN, remote troubleshooting).

Responsibilities

• Install and Maintain Diagnostic Systems: complete installations, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on assigned instruments.
• Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: diagnose problems across multiple instruments and document resolutions.
• Own Customer Satisfaction: manage customer issues from start to resolution or escalation.
• Manage Territory Effectively: plan service visits, maintain inventory, and support on-call rotation.
• Ensure Compliance and Safety: follow regulatory, quality, and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate and Mentor: partner with cross-functional teams and guide other Field Service Representatives.
• Achieve Business Metrics: meet targets for service sales, cost of service, and KPIs.
• Continuous Improvement: use remote tools to maximize instrument uptime and maintain certifications.
