Job summary

Plastic Executive Recruiters is seeking a Field Sales Engineer to grow the Midwest territory by selling complete capital equipment systems for the plastics extrusion industry.

You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, collaborate with engineering and support teams, and pursue new business while expanding relationships with existing customers in manufacturing environments.

Remote-friendly role; must reside in IL, IN, WI, MN or KY, with 50–75% travel and strong incentives package.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of outside B2B sales experience.
• Strong technical aptitude to discuss equipment capabilities.
• Proven success growing accounts and winning new business.
• Experience selling capital equipment with longer sales cycles.
• Plastics extrusion experience is a plus.
• Self-motivated and comfortable prospecting independently.
• Willingness to travel 50-75%.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities while managing and expanding relationships with existing customers.
• Sell capital equipment and extrusion systems, upgrades, retrofits, and rebuild solutions.
• Identify opportunities across plastics extrusion and related markets.
• Build relationships with plant managers, engineering leaders, and other manufacturing decision-makers.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and technical discovery through proposal and closing.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, quoting, and technical support teams to develop customer solutions.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer activity, and pipeline information within the CRM.
