Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. The role is remote/field-based and collaborates with patient support, market access, and field sales to ensure timely patient access to therapy.

The FAM will provide education on access processes, reimbursement, and hub programs, while coordinating with access hubs on patient cases and payer policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or reimbursement.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures and access processes.
• HIPAA/compliance expertise.
• Must reside in the assigned territory and be able to travel 20–25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorization.
• Analyze access trends and identify barriers to coverage.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve patient access and satisfaction.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to support therapy access.
• Educate field teams on payer coverage and hub programs.
• Coordinate with hub vendor and third parties on patient access issues.
