Job summary

Merck, USA (primary location: Pennsylvania, North Wales area), is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. The role works cross-functionally to support timely patient access to therapy, including payer coverage and patient support programs.

The FAM will educate providers, analyze access trends, and coordinate with the access hub and field sales teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial).
• HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Experience with hub and patient support activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment with 20–25% travel; must reside in the New Orleans area assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorization.
• Analyze access trends and partner cross-functionally to address barriers to patient access.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support patient access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends and address access barriers; assist with hub enrollment and patient support programs.
• Educate HCP offices on product hub program and coverage designs (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).
• Escalate access issues with third parties including hub vendor; attend National and Regional Meetings.
