Merck & Co. is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the access SME for healthcare professionals and organizations.

This remote/field-based role collaborates with patient support, market access, and field sales to facilitate timely patient access to therapy, providing education on access processes, payer policies, and hub programs across an assigned geography. The role requires 7+ years in patient support or related fields, strong knowledge of Medicare Part B and Medicaid, HIPAA compliance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes (benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals).
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Hub and patient support activities understanding.
• Travel 20-25%; must reside in the Ohio Valley assigned territory; remote environment.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs.
• Analyze access trends and payer coverage to address barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify barriers and support patient satisfaction.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless patient access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends and provide access information to HCP offices.
• Educate field teams on access programs and hub resources.
