Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access for HCPs and HCOs. The role works across patient support, market access, and field sales to ensure timely patient access to therapy, while complying with healthcare regulations.

The FAM will educate providers on benefit verification, prior authorization, and payer coverage, coordinate with an access hub, and collaborate across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharma/healthcare sales, operations, or reimbursement.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare Part B, Medicaid and commercial payer processes.
• HIPAA and pharmaceutical compliance expertise.
• Experience with hub and patient support activities.
• Willingness to travel 20–25% and reside in assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorization.
• Analyze access trends and payer coverage barriers.
• Collaborate with Field Sales, Market Access, and other teams to facilitate patient access.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to support therapy access.
• Escalate and coordinate access issues with hub vendor and third parties.
• Educate field teams on access programs and payer policies.
• Attend national and regional meetings.
• Respond to payer-specific access questions with accurate information.
