Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. The role is remote/field-based, collaborating with patient support, market access, and field sales to facilitate timely patient access to therapy.

You will provide information on access processes, payer coverage, and patient assistance programs while ensuring HIPAA compliance and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial).
• HIPAA/compliance knowledge for patient confidentiality.
• Experience with hub and patient support activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment with 20–25% travel.

Responsabilités

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs.
• Analyze access trends.
• Partner cross-functionally to identify and address barriers to patient access.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends to address access barriers.
• Provide access information to HCP offices.
• Provide education to field teams on access topics.
• Escalate and coordinate on access issues with third parties.
• Provide education on Specialty Pharmacy issues.
• Explain coverage to HCP offices by payer type.
• Stay informed on market dynamics and payer policies.
• Educate HCPs on hub programs and patient support resources.
• Attend National and Regional Meetings.
