Job summary

Merck & Co. in the United States seeks a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations, coordinating with patient support, market access, and field sales to secure timely access to therapy.

You will educate HCP offices on benefit design, payer coverage, and hub programs, analyze access trends, collaborate across teams to remove barriers, and support patients throughout the reimbursement process, with approximately 25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; concentration in healthcare, life sciences, or business is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and access processes.
• Experience with benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals processes.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Experience supporting hub and patient assistance activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment with travel

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access and benefit verification.
• Analyze access trends and identify barriers to patient access.
• Partner cross-functionally to support patient satisfaction and access to therapy.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless access.
• Monitor payer trends and provide access education to field teams.
• Escalate access issues with third parties including hub vendors.
• Educate and support on Specialty Pharmacy issues and payer coverage.
• Communicate how products are covered under commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Maintain knowledge of regional and national market dynamics and payer policies.
• Act as subject matter expert on access and affordability challenges across payer types.
• Educate HCP offices on hub programs, patient support offerings, and financial assistance.
• Attend National and Regional Meetings.
