Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Loss Mitigation FHA Claims Specialist to prepare, file, and monitor FHA home retention claims from a remote home-based position. You will follow HUD/investor guidelines and ensure timely posting of funds while maintaining thorough notes and documentation in the system.

The role requires 1–2 years in mortgage servicing defaults, FHA claims experience preferred, and strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 1–2 years mortgage servicing default experience
• FHA claims experience preferred
• Understanding loss mitigation and claims process
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure
• Ability to negotiate and manage complex issues

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD claims timely and accurately.
• Follow up on claim proceeds semi-daily.
• Perform loan level reconciliation of claim proceeds.
• Provide posting instructions within 24 hours.
• Document servicing actions and delays in system notes.
• Imaging and HUD audit file maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
