Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Loss Mitigation FHA Claims Specialist to prepare, file, and follow up on FHA home retention claims timely and accurately per guidelines. Remote work from home is supported with a target pay range of $23.00 to $26.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include filing HUD claims, daily follow-ups, reconciliations, posting instructions, and maintaining audit files. Requires high school diploma and 1–2 years mortgage servicing default experience; FHA claims

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 1–2 years mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• FHA claims experience preferred.
• Understanding the loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints to serve CMS interests.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and file HUD claims accurately according to HUD and CMS guidelines.
• Follow up on claim proceeds on a semi-daily basis.
• Perform loan-level reconciliations of claimed vs paid amounts and escrow figures.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review and ensure timely completion of all scheduled steps.
• Update completion dates when actions occur or are rescheduled.
• Conduct daily follow-up and escalate trends to the supervisor.
• Document all servicing actions, delays, and conversations in system notes.
• Ensure all claim documents are imaged timely and audit files maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
