Job summary

SMX is seeking a federal financial business analyst to leverage deep budgeting knowledge and data analytics to advance the BAS solution for government clients. This 100% remote, full-time role requires working with a diverse team of designers, developers, and budget SMEs to enhance planning and reporting capabilities.

Candidates should bring 5+ years in federal financial management or process analysis, strong communication skills, and a Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, IS, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years in federal financial management, process analysis, data analytics, or related roles.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and priorities.
• Analyze and document processes, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures for impacts on processes.
• Use BI/tools to maximize value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions improving reporting and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align requirements.
• Create quality SDLC documentation (RTM, FDD, design docs, user guides).
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
