Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a remote-friendly Facility Coding Quality specialist to support enterprise Coding Quality audits and guidance for professional and hospital coding. The role requires 5 years of experience and AHIMA/AAPC credentials, with a focus on inpatient and outpatient coding quality and revenue cycle integrity.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a 1st shift preference and remote work options in approved states.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC).
• Minimum 5 years of expert-level professional or hospital-based coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance, standard work, reference materials, and position statements.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits by routing requests and tracking findings.
• Analyze coding quality data and audit results to identify trends and risks.
• Prepare summaries, reports, and materials for leadership and audits.
• Partner with Integrity Operations, coding leadership, clinicians, and education teams to improve documentation quality.
• Support regulatory, compliance, and quality-related projects and documentation quality.
• Respond to internal inquiries related to coding guidance, quality findings, and audit outcomes.
