Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time enterprise revenue cycle specialist focused on facility coding quality. The role is conducted remotely with a Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week. Candidates should have inpatient/outpatient hospital coding experience and strong AHIMA guidelines knowledge.

The team collaborates with integrity operations, coding leadership, clinicians, and education teams to ensure accurate documentation and compliant coding. Remote travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Advanced medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience in professional and hospital-based coding.
• Ability to analyze coding trends and data for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements for accurate coding practices.
• Develop and maintain coding guidance and reference materials for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and track findings and corrective actions.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality improvement initiatives.
• Partner with clinical teams to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Support regulatory and compliance projects and AHIMA standards.
• Respond to inquiries related to coding guidance and audit outcomes.
• Assist with testing, reporting validation, and workflow updates related to coding quality.
