Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a senior coding quality professional to support accurate professional and hospital coding. The role emphasizes applying coding rules, developing guidance, and coordinating audits to improve enterprise-wide quality.

The ideal candidate has AHIMA/AAPC credentials, 5 years of hospital coding experience, and strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and EHR systems. Remote work is available for eligible states.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• Certification from AHIMA or AAPC (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC) strongly preferred.
• 5 years in expert-level professional or hospital-based coding and audits.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory rules.
• Develop and maintain coding guidance and reference materials.
• Coordinate coding quality audits and track findings for improvements.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and risks.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and audits.
• Collaborate with integrity operations, clinicians, and education teams.
• Support regulatory, compliance, and quality projects.
