Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a remote Coding Quality Lead with inpatient coding expertise and 5+ years of hospital coding experience. Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• Coding credentials from AHIMA or AAPC are required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in expert-level professional or hospital-based coding and revenue cycle knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements to support accurate and compliant professional and hospital coding practices.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance, standard work, reference materials, and position statements for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits, track findings and corrective actions, and verify documentation completeness and accuracy.
• Analyze coding quality data and audit results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Integrity Operations and education teams to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
