Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• AHIMA or AAPC professional coder certification and annual renewal.
• 2+ years of experience with ICD-10, CPT, facility charging, and modifiers.
• 2+ years of Emergency Room coding experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Expert knowledge in all facility outpatient coding types: Emergency.
• Identify ICD-10, CPT and modifiers for facility services per guidelines.
• Adhere to coding ethics per AAPC/AHIMA standards.
• Maintain performance in coding quality and productivity.
• Understand APC codes and Medicare guidelines.
• Query physicians when appropriate.
• Stay updated with QM/Manager/Director guidance.
