Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC maintained annually.
• 2+ years outpatient facility coding experience for multiple chart types.
• 1+ years with LCD/NCD, Medical Necessity, Modifier Edits, OCE/NCCI structures.
• Expert CPT and ICD-10-CM coding proficiency.
• Proficient PC user in Windows, MS Excel, and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT and ICD-10 code assignments for outpatient services per guidelines.
• Apply coding knowledge to correct CCI Edits and Medical Necessity accounts.
• Understand APC codes and abstract data during chart review when coding.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity as per policies.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when needed.
• Stay updated on coding knowledge from QM Manager and Directors.
