Job summary

Half Mermaid Productions in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking an experienced environment artist to help shape the world of our new game Project D. This full-time contractor role is remote, with occasional travel to New York City and alignment with European time zones.

You will join a small team to build immersive environments, translate concept art into textured, game-ready assets, and ensure optimum performance on target platforms.

Qualifications

• 3D modelling and texturing of realistic assets.
• Modular asset construction and world-building.
• Strong lighting skills, especially with Lumen.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Shipping an Unreal product in a professional game environment.
• Proactive, self-motivated with good communication for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team to create a complex, rich and immersive world
• Source and organise reference material
• Create assets from concept art/reference to be game-ready
• Ensure assets are optimised for target platforms
• Collaborate with external partners to review and integrate assets
• Troubleshoot and solve problems
