Job summary

Handshake is seeking a Support Specialist (Contract) to deliver expert email and phone assistance to our employer, student, and career services users. You’ll diagnose complex issues, craft tailored responses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the Handshake experience.

This 6-month contract may extend or convert based on fit and business needs. As part of the Support Team, you’ll unblock users, share insights with relevant teams, and contribute to a seamless customer journey

Qualifications

• Location: USA-based and eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn technical tools quickly and independently.
• Resilience and adaptability in a fast-growing startup environment.
• Customer-focused mindset with a problem-solving approach.
• Regular schedule: 40 hours per week during business hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide email and phone support to Handshake customers using internal ticketing systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and build/tear down custom reports for users.
• Collaborate with Support, Success, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain high standards for response and resolution times and customer satisfaction.
• Flex across support queues and act as a trusted advisor for users of Handshake.
