Handshake is seeking a Support Specialist, Contractor, to provide high-level support for employers, students, and career services users. The role involves email, phone, and video consultations for a broad range of customers, from small organizations to major brands.

Qualifications

• Location: US-based; remote-flexible with states including AZ, DC, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, NC, NM, NV, NJ, NY, OR, PA, SD, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WI.
• Ability to learn technical tools and concepts quickly.
• Comfort with change and ambiguity in a startup environment.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 40 hours per week during business hours, primarily via email and phone support.
• Daily ticket handling: ~20–30 email tickets and ~10 calls during a 4-hour shift.
• Attend team meetings 1–3 times per week; perform administrative tasks as needed.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, build and troubleshoot reports, and respond with tailored guidance.
• Use internal tools and documentation to resolve a wide range of customer questions.
• Collaborate with Customer Support, Success, Product, and Engineering to improve processes.
