Pearson is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of 5–8 software engineers in the Enterprise Learning & Skills group. You will guide day‑to‑day health, output, and growth, ensuring quality and timely delivery of our API‑driven platform used globally to issue and verify digital credentials.

You'll prioritize work, remove blockers, and provide coaching while partnering with Product, Customer Success, and external vendors.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software development experience and 2+ years managing or leading a team.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, PostgreSQL and API-driven platforms.
• Proven track record delivering reliable software with strong engineering practices.
• Excellent collaboration with product, customers, and vendors.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a team of 5–8 software engineers, own well‑being, performance, and output.
• Plan daily and sprint work, monitor progress, and adjust priorities.
• Troubleshoot blockers and coordinate handoffs across engineers, teams, and vendors.
• Triage bugs and production issues with attention to detail.
• Maintain coding and QA standards, test thoroughness, and team docs.
• Provide real‑time feedback, conduct 1:1s, and recognize milestones.
• Oversee onboarding and skill development for new teammates.
• Identify process improvements and elevate high‑impact issues.
• Champion AI‑assisted development tools and responsible use.
• Uphold security, ethics, and resilience across shipped work.
