Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 5–8 person team on the Enterprise Learning & Skills platform. You’ll guide delivery, ensure performance, and grow the team’s capabilities while partnering with Product, Customer Success, and external vendors.

You won’t need to write production code, but you’ll influence architecture, ensure quality, and champion secure, resilient practices across the API-driven platform used globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years managing or formally leading a software engineering team.
• Familiar with Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, PostgreSQL and API management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of 5–8 engineers.
• Plan and allocate daily and sprint work and monitor delivery schedules.
• Triage bugs and production issues with attention to detail.
• Maintain coding standards, QA, and team documentation.
• Provide real-time feedback and conduct regular 1:1s.
