Pearson is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead an Enterprise Learning & Skills engineering team. You will guide day-to-day health, output, and growth for 5-8 engineers across Ruby on Rails services and React frontends, ensuring quality and delivery against requirements.

You will prioritize work, remove blockers, mentor new members, align with Product and Customer Success, and drive engineering practices while staying technically hands-on enough to guide design discussions.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software development experience and 2+ years managing or leading a software engineering team.
• Working familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, PostgreSQL and API management, cloud computing, DevOps practices.
• Proven track record of delivering with reliable schedules and quality standards.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, coach, and support a team of 5-8 engineers building Ruby on Rails services and React frontends, owning well-being, performance, and output.
• Plan and allocate daily and sprint work, monitor progress, and keep projects on track with clear priorities.
• Troubleshoot obstacles, clarify requirements, and coordinate handoffs across engineers, teams, and vendors.
• Triage bugs and production issues with attention to detail to minimize customer disruption.
• Maintain standards of quality and consistency within defined processes, including code reviews and testing.
