Job summary

Affi seeks a senior engineering leader to drive the technical strategy for a distributed backend platform handling high-value financial interactions.

You will lead engineers, collaborate with product, design and analytics, and ensure reliability and scalability across the stack using AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes. This remote-first role offers flexible work and equity participation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• 2+ years of experience managing a software team.
• Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes.
• Experience in financial systems, ledgering or treasury domains where data accuracy matters.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale and align with business goals.
• Collaborate across product management, design and analytics to ensure sustainability and risk awareness.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining solutions and operational processes.
• Own your team’s operations, monitoring, on-call readiness and incident playbooks.
• Set code review and design standards and propagate them beyond your team.
