Job summary

Affi is a remote-first company seeking an experienced engineering leader to set technical strategy for a backend team and drive scalable systems in the financial domain. You will partner with product, design, and analytics to align technical decisions with business goals, ensuring reliability and performance.

You will own team operations, establish coding standards, mentor engineers, and advocate for efficient processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• 2+ years managing a software team.
• Experience with distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark, Kubernetes.
• Experience in financial systems, ledgering or treasury domains.
• Strong communication across a global engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale.
• Collaborate across product management, design & analytics for sustainability and risk.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining technical solutions and processes.
• Own team operations and availability with monitoring and on-call readiness.
• Establish code review and design standards and advocate them broadly.
• Mentor and develop talent through guidance and example.
