Job summary

Affi is a remote-first company seeking a senior backend leader to guide a high-availability platform used for financial and ledgering work. You will shape technical strategy, drive cross-team collaboration, and own reliability and performance across critical services.

Requirements include 8+ years in backend design, 2+ years leading teams, and strong experience with Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• 2+ years of experience managing a software team.
• Experience with financial systems, ledgering, treasury or similar domains.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long horizon and align it with business goals.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics to ensure technical sustainability and risk management.
• Define and promote technical solutions and operational processes across teams.
• Own team operations, monitoring, playbooks, testing and on-call readiness.
