Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Consumer team to lead frontend initiatives across mobile and web platforms, guiding cross‑team projects and aligning with product and design goals.

You will build and grow a well‑balanced engineering team, own the technical strategy and multi‑quarter roadmap, mentor engineers, and ensure reliability, performance, and a high‑trust, inclusive culture while delivering customer value.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years managing and growing engineering teams
• Experience delivering consumer‑facing software
• Experience with React/React Native and a backend-for-frontend
• Strong communication and stakeholder management
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers, setting expectations and providing feedback
• Own the team’s technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap
• Empower the tech lead and engineers during design and cross-functional work
• Own availability, reliability, and performance of consumer‑facing systems
• Drive alignment across organizations and partner with Product, Design, Analytics
• Collaborate with product and design to deliver customer value
