Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Consumer team to lead front-end focused, cross‑team initiatives across mobile and web. You will shape user experiences for millions of customers and guide a high-trust, remote-first engineering culture.

You will grow a well-balanced team, define the technical strategy, and ensure reliability while partnering with Product, Design, and Analytics to drive impactful product experiences.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in people management.
• Proven experience delivering consumer-facing software.
• Experience guiding architecture, quality, and reliability decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a balanced engineering team; set expectations and provide feedback.
• Own the team's technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap aligned to experience initiatives.
• Empower engineers and tech leads in design and cross-functional alignment.
• Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of consumer systems including on-call and incident response.
• Drive alignment across organizations and partner teams; collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics.
