Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a growing engineering team while contributing technically as needed.

You will guide cross-functional partners, craft roadmaps, and ensure reliable, scalable cloud-native solutions that advance Nava’s public-serving mission. You will work with product stakeholders to identify risks, balance technical debt with delivery milestones, and maintain production systems, including on-call duties.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in agile, multidisciplinary teams on cloud platforms.
• 1+ year as a People Manager.
• Experience designing production-grade, cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployment.
• Experience with Postgres, JDBC, and ORM mappers like Hibernate.
• DevOps experience, preferably Jenkins CI/CD.
• AWS cloud native services and data engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and architectural thinking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Write code and perform code reviews.
• Review architectures and designs from other teams.
• Design technical roadmaps and enforce architecture.
• Maintain production systems and on-call duties.
• Guide planning, estimation, prioritization, and debt balancing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to mitigate risks.
