Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a technically skilled team while contributing as an individual contributor or technical lead.

You will guide cross-functional teams, design and review architecture, and ensure delivery of cloud-native solutions aligned with Nava’s mission and client needs. The role emphasizes mentorship, strategic planning, production support, and collaboration with government and industry partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing/building cloud platforms.
• 1+ years experience as a People Manager.
• Experience designing production-grade, cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java/Spring Boot and containers.
• Experience with relational databases, especially Postgres, using JDBC and ORM (Hibernate).
• Experience with DevOps, preferably Jenkins CI/CD.
• Experience using AWS cloud native services and data engineering.
• Ability to think strategically around trade-offs and long-term benefits; strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide career growth guidance and performance feedback to direct reports.
• Act as technical contributor or lead across architecture reviews, specifications, and roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and guide planning, estimation, prioritization, and debt management.
• Review designs from other teams and ensure alignment with technical strategy.
• Engage with product teams and stakeholders to identify risks and requirements.
• Contribute to growing Nava’s client portfolio through technical leadership in bids and client meetings.
