Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience and 2+ years managing or leading a software engineering team.
Proficiency with Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, PostgreSQL and API management; able to guide design discussions.
Experience onboarding and developing engineers with measurable ramp-up improvements.
Strong collaboration and communication with engineers, stakeholders, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Lead and coach a team of 5–8 engineers building Ruby on Rails services and React frontends.
Plan and allocate daily and sprint work; monitor progress against delivery schedules.
Troubleshoot blockers, clarify requirements, and coordinate handoffs across engineers and vendors.
Triage bugs and production issues with attention to detail to minimize disruption.
Maintain coding, QA standards, code reviews, and team documentation.
Provide real-time feedback; conduct regular 1:1s; recognize team contributions.
Own onboarding and skill development of new team members.
Identify process improvements and elevate unresolved issues to senior leadership.
Champion the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools across coding, testing, documentation.
Uphold secure, ethical, and resilient engineering practices.
