Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Eligibility Advisor I - MES in Palestine, TX for a temporary role ending 08/31/2027. You will interview applicants, determine financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid programs, and process data in eligibility systems.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of customer service; telework is eligible and overtime may be required. Join a mission-driven team delivering critical services to Texans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 60 sem hrs / 90 quarter hrs preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data and enter information into a computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work per state/federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
