Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Eligibility Advisor I for a temporary placement in Paris, TX. The role supports programs such as SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and MEPD, helping determine financial eligibility for public assistance.

This position offers a comprehensive benefits package and eligibility for telework; the assignment ends 08/31/2027. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience; related fields accepted.
• Experience interviewing clients and gathering personal information is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients in person or by telephone to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data from various sources to enter information into a computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work according to regulations, procedures, and timelines; perform other duties as assigned.
