Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Eligibility Advisor I - Temporary in Corpus Christi to determine eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and related programs. This position requires training, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; preferred college hours.
• One year customer service experience; interview clients helpful.
• Ability to read and apply detailed regulations and policies.
• Basic arithmetic and data entry skills; computer literacy.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for programs.
• Evaluate data from various sources and enter into eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize public assistance benefits.
• Process work per regulations and timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
