Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer in the United States to perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance on Power Delivery equipment. The role is remote with up to 75% travel and requires hands-on execution across transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, busways, and related systems.

You will plan outages, lead site activities, generate technical reports, and coordinate materials and quotations. A strong background in LV/MV equipment and field service is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 8 years of related engineering / field experience.
• Willingness to travel up to an estimated 75% of the time.
• Experience in repair/refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines preferred.
• Candidates must already have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Lead outages with field engineers and technicians; manage reports, materials, quotations, and time/expense tracking.
• Plan and instruct internal and external training to share field engineering and product knowledge.
• Perform administrative tasks such as writing technical reports and preparing job status updates.
