Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an engineer to design, implement, and commission generator control switchgear systems within the Electric Power Division. You will deliver automation solutions for complex power systems, working independently and with teams from concept to commissioning.

The role emphasizes retrofit projects, cross-functional collaboration, and cross-country travel. A BSEE/BSEET is preferred, with strong customer focus and technical excellence.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with automation and controls, PLC-based systems, HMIs, and DCS.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Mansioni

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with teams.
• Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD designers for wiring and assembly drawings.
• Perform risk assessment and support field performance of projects.
• Prepare project documentation and reports; manage expenses.
• Train technicians and customers on maintenance and operation.
