Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a qualified engineer to join the Electric Power Division, designing, developing, and implementing generator control switchgear systems.

You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, managing projects from concept through commissioning in a travel-intensive role. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, convert legacy PLC programs, and train technicians and customers on maintenance and system operation.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience with automation and controls, including PLC-based systems and HMIs.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Mansioni

• Identify retrofit opportunities and support proposals with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Partner with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
• Perform technical risk assessments and support field performance.
