Caterpillar Inc. is seeking engineers to design, develop, and implement generator control switchgear systems within its Electric Power Division. The role focuses on delivering automation and control solutions for complex power systems, executing retrofit and new projects from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities include design, programming, testing, documentation, and training of technicians and customers. Travel in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with automation and controls including PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems.

Responsabilités

• Identify retrofit opportunities and support proposal development with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
• Perform technical risk assessment and support field performance of projects.
• Submit project documents, reports and expenses in a timely manner.
• Train and support technicians and customers on maintenance and system operation.
