Caterpillar Inc. is hiring for an Electric Power Division role focusing on generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems, leading retrofit and new projects from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Experience with automation and controls; PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints; read and interpret technical documents.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, contractors, and end users across projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Produce wiring and assembly drawings in partnership with CAD designers.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Product Support Center teams and escalate when needed.
• Submit project documentation, reports, and expenses promptly.
• Train technicians, customers, and internal teams on maintenance, troubleshooting, and system operation.
