Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities. You will define strategy, drive a culture of behavior-based safety, and ensure compliance while reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

This role requires 10+ years EHS experience, 5+ years in management, and up to 50% travel. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance safety, risk mitigation, and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs with client success focus.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite Office.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making.
• High work ethic and commitment to the company.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with objectives.
• Champion a proactive, behavior-based safety culture across sites.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation processes.
• Develop, implement and govern integrated EHS management systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance over safety standards.
• Oversee incident investigation and root cause analyses.
• Mentor EHS professionals and deploy training programs.
